Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
The short version: your screenshots, recordings and notes stay on your computer. To keep Prap free we ask for a free account, and for that we keep your email address, first name and last name — nothing else. We don't sell or share it, we don't show ads, and Prap doesn't track how you use it.
What we keep
- Account: your email address, first and last name, when you signed up, when you last confirmed your name, and when Prap last checked in (about once a day).
- Sign-in: a sign-in link or code is emailed to you; there is no password.
What we never receive
- Your captures, recordings, transcripts, notes or anything on your screen — they're stored only on your PC (or in a folder you choose, such as your own OneDrive or Google Drive folder).
- Usage analytics or telemetry.
Features you turn on yourself
- AI features send the picture or text you choose to the AI provider whose key you enter (for example OpenAI or Anthropic), under that provider's terms. Prap works fully without them.
- Bug reports and sharing send what you choose to the service you choose (for example Jira, Linear, GitHub, Slack or your team's server). Prap finds and hides private details such as emails, keys and card numbers before anything leaves your PC.
- Updates are downloaded from downloads.prap.app. Prap only installs updates signed by us.
Who helps us
- Supabase — stores accounts (United States).
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and the downloads, and sends the sign-in emails.
Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold, or to correct or delete it — including your whole account — at [email protected]. We reply within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your name and email; your captures on your PC are not touched.
Children
Prap isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in Prap before it takes effect.
